Mike bought this custom outdoor putting green for his son who is on the golf team at Pickerington High School. The backyard had an interesting layout. We had a number of different obstacles to overcome. First the yard was very long and narrow. It opens up to a baseball field so they always had kids walking through.

Lastly, Mike’s son wanted to practice chipping just as much as putting. If you look at the picture you’ll see that the green has 3 different types of turf—putting, fairway, and rough. We built the 3 foot retaining wall to level everything out.

The synthetic turf is cut in and around the existing deck making their deck look much bigger. We did not install the lighting. Mike had us come back to take more pictures after he put up the lighting. He said that his son used the green so much that he installed the landscape lighting and flood lights from the house so he could practice at night.
